In July 2024, the 2nd expedition revisited and explored the forests in the area in more detail. The paper provides the first collected data on these unique communities (including a complete relevé of one of them). The differences between these communities and lichen/moss-lichen spruce forests from other regions of Russia are discussed in details. The plan to investigate these forest communities and to elaborate measures for their protection is envisaged. The spruce moss-lichen woodlands of the Oka Plateau meet both the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems and the Russian regional criteria for rare and endangered ecosystems.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В июле 2023 г. Редкостойные ельники мохово-лишайниковые Окинского Плато вполне соответствуют международным (IUCN Red List of Ecosystems) и региональным критериям, предъявляемым к редким и находящимся под угрозой экосистемам.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Cladonia stellaris</kwd><kwd>IUCN Red List of Ecosystems</kwd><kwd>Rhytidium rugosum</kwd><kwd>Buryatia</kwd><kwd>Cladonia stellaris</kwd><kwd>East Sayan</kwd><kwd>IUCN Red List of Ecosystems</kwd><kwd>Okinsky District</kwd><kwd>Pleistocene lavas</kwd><kwd>rare and unique forest communities</kwd><kwd>Rhytidium rugosum</kwd><kwd>spruce moss-lichen forests</kwd><kwd>Zhom-Bolok River</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Бурятия</kwd><kwd>Восточный Саян</kwd><kwd>Окинский район</kwd><kwd>плейстоценовые лавы</kwd><kwd>редкие и уникальные лесные сообщества</kwd><kwd>еловые мохово-лишайниковые леса</kwd><kwd>р</kwd><kwd>Жом-Болок</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Arzhannikov S.G., Braucher R., Jolivet M., Arzhannikova A.V., Vassallo R., Chauvet A., Bourles D., Chauvet F. 2012.
